Eat Mindfully This Christmas and Lose Weight without Dieting:

Fat Loss 4 IdiotsAre you a victim of the holiday trance? Do you mindlessly move through the holiday season eating whatever is in front of you totally oblivious to what effect that food is having on your weight? This is a common phenomenon during the holidays but you don't have to fall victim to this trap.

Learn how eating mindfully can break you free from unconscious eating and save you hundreds and even thousands of calories this holiday season.

To eat mindfully there are two things you want to concentrate on

1. Swallow Everything in Your Mouth before Taking a Second Bite
This is a simple solution but one most people ignore. To eat more mindfully take a normal size bite of food, chew it up completely and then swallow everything in your mouth. It is only at this time that you should take a second bite. It might help you to put the food or your fork down between bites to help you remember.

2. Eat With All 5 of Your Senses
We all have 5 senses: sight, smell, hearing, touch and taste but how many do you use when you are eating? If you are like most you probably only pay attention to how a food tastes and if you are really in a mindless eating mode you might not even slow down enough to notice that.

To eat with all 5 of your senses you will first want to look at your food, what does it look like, what color is it? Then notice if the food has an aroma. Next put the food in your mouth and listen for any sound: does the food crunch or is it silent? Shift your focus to feel the texture of the food as it moves between your teeth and over your tongue: is it smooth or rough? And finally notice the taste of the food.

By eating mindfully you will naturally eat slower and you will also enjoy your food more which will allow you to eat less and be more satisfied. You also might notice that certain foods you thought you couldn't live without are not as appealing as you once believed giving you even more control over those temptations.

These simple rules will allow you to enjoy the Christmas season and all the treats without having to adhere to a strict diet and without having to worry about weight gain.
