A Review of the Medifast Program:

Fat Loss 4 IdiotsIf you feel like you've tried every diet out there with little or no success, you may want to look into the Medifast program. While on Medifast you eat one "lean and green" meal a day, as well as 5 Medifast meals every 2 to 3 hours. In total you will eat 6 meals a day while following the program.

Sample Medifast meal choices include puddings, drinks, soups, bars, and oatmeals. A weight loss of 2-5 pounds a week is not uncommon for those on the Medifast program.

One of the most positive aspects of Medifast is the "lean and green" meal. You are allowed one meal a day of "real" food, so you don't have to feel deprived day after day. Granted that one meal a day doesn't include pizza, beer, and Buffalo wings, but you still can enjoy 5-7 ounces of lean protein and vegetables. You can enjoy foods like chicken, fish, and turkey along with broccoli, spinach, and cucumbers. This allows those on the Medifast program to eat dinner with their families, or go to social functions and still stay true to their diets.

For breakfast you may want to have oatmeal, a Medifast bar, a shake, or even pudding. If you like scrambled eggs, Medifast offers their own brand. Your oatmeal options consist of Peach, Apple Cinnamon, Maple & Brown Sugar, and Blueberry varieties.

You are allowed one Medifast program bar a day. Be careful with the bars because they are very tasty and it is easy to eat more than one. Medifast makes Chocolate, Chocolate Mint, Caramel Nut, Peanut Butter, and Oatmeal Raisin Bars.

The Medifast program also offers a wide variety of soups. You can enjoy Cream of Chicken, Cream of Broccoli, Chicken Noodle, Cream of Tomato, and Chicken & Rice Soups courtesy of Medifast.

You'll also most likely consume 2 or 3 Medifast shakes per day while following the program. The shakes are simple to prepare and include French Vanilla, Dutch Chocolate, Swiss Mocha, Strawberry Creme, and Banana Creme flavors.

While following the Medifast program you can expect to eat six meals a day, every 2 to 3 hours. You can enjoy bars, oatmeals, shakes, soups, puddings, meat and vegetables every day, and still remain true to your weight loss goals. If you are frustrated with your weight loss efforts, and are looking for a plan that allows you to eat a wide variety of foods while losing weight, you may want to try the Medifast program.
