Weight Loss Lose Weight With Protein Shakes Troubleshooting Part 2:

Fat Loss 4 IdiotsProtein meal replacement shakes are a recognized way to effectively lose weight safely and with consistent results. However, there are a few minor challenges that may appear along the way. If you are aware of these before they occur and know how to fix them you'll have a better chance of being successful with your program.

I Feel Hungry Between Meals

This is probably one of the most common complaints but it's also very easy to remedy. There are usually just two reasons for experiencing hunger. The first is that you may be skipping meals or you may be going too long between meals. You can't run your car without gas and you can't run your physical system without sufficient nutritional fuel. First, don't skip meals. Second, put yourself on a regular schedule for your meal replacement shakes, snacks, and meals. Every four hours might be a good place to start such as 7 AM, 11 AM, 4 PM, and 7 PM.

The second most common cause for hunger is simply not getting enough protein.
Try adding another serving of the protein booster, which will add 5 grams of protein to your shake. If you still need more you can add another serving. You can also have another between meal snack. Just make sure it has at least 10 to 15 grams of protein and not a bunch of carbs. One caution here is that if you feel hungry make sure it's not just a craving for one of your favorite foods.

I Keep Getting a Headache.

Some of the most common causes of headaches in the first week of a diet include constipation, stress, and missed meals. If you are constipated you can try consuming more fiber by eating more fruits and vegetables or taking a fiber supplement as discussed in Part 1. Another cause of headaches may be due to stress and the answer here is to practice some relaxation techniques. Often a stress headache begins with muscle spasms in the shoulders, which spread to the scalp cutting off blood flow to the scalp. Missed meals can cause low blood sugar resulting in a headache.

Caffeine withdrawal can cause a headache but it's not necessary to eliminate tea or coffee with this program. One to two cups a day is OK and the caffeine may actually help with the weight loss by stimulating the metabolism.
If you are used to putting cream and sugar in your coffee you should use a creamer substitute and a non-sugar sweetener.
